Graduate Outcomes and Being "Job Ready"

Employers highly value the capabilities you developed along the way of your university degree. So with Cadmus, assessments are designed and measured against the skills and taxonomies your degree requires to graduate – things like:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Communication and argumentation
  • Ethical and responsible use of AI
  • Application of theory to real-world scenarios

Assessed Against The Right Standards

Cadmus help your university align assessments (long-form written assessments, exams, and group projects) with the graduate attributes and learning outcomes built into your degree. That means you’re not just jumping through hoops – you’re building capabilities that matter for:

Jobs and Interviews

Professional Accreditation

Further Study or Research

AI-Ready, not AI-Replaced

Generative AI isn’t going away. Cadmus helps your university design assessments where:

  • You learn how to use AI ethically and transparently, where allowed
  • You’re rewarded for original thinking, not just copying output
  • You can show employers you understand the tools—but can also think beyond them

The outcome: You finish your degree with skills, not just grades. You’re better prepared to step into a workforce where AI is part of the toolkit, not the whole story.

What Cadmus Looks Like in Your Day-to-Day Study

Over time, this all ads up to something powerful: you're more likely to stay, pass, and graudate.

What is Cadmus?

Cadmus is where your assessment happens – from start to finish.

It’s an online platform your university uses to support written assignments, exams, and group work — not to watch you or catch you out. Cadmus isn’t a plagiarism tool and it’s not designed to make you fail. It exists to support learning, by giving you clear instructions, a focused place to write, and automatic saving as you work.

You’ll still access your assessment through your usual LMS (Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, etc.), but when you open the task, you’ll be taken into Cadmus, where you’ll complete your work, submit it, and later view your feedback, all in one place. The experience is designed to be simple and user-friendly, with ongoing support available if you ever need help.

By making assessment clearer and more supportive for students, Cadmus also helps educators and institutions focus on what matters most for you : learning, growth, and fair outcomes.

We created Cadmus to help you succeed — and your input helps us make it even better. If something isn’t working for you, or you have an idea to improve the assessment experience, we’d love to hear your thoughts!

Got Feedback or a Great Idea for Cadmus?

No. Cadmus is designed to reduce the need for misconduct in the first place by making assessments clearer, more supportive, and more meaningful for you. If integrity issues do occur, Cadmus helps your university resolve them fairly and based on real evidence of how the work was created.

Cadmus is designed to support you while you’re learning and working, not just at the point of submission. It helps by:

  • Making expectations clear upfront, so you know what “good” looks like
  • Breaking large tasks into more manageable steps or checkpoints
  • Showing rubrics, examples, and guidance in the same place you’re working
  • Helping your educator see where students may be struggling and offer support earlier

Instead of assessment being something you rush at the end, Cadmus supports how you learn and build your work over time — which helps you understand the content more deeply and feel more confident in what you submit.

Cadmus doesn’t change how “hard” the assessment content is—but it does make assessments clearer, more structured, and better supported, which have been proven to enhance student success.

Yes. Cadmus is built around learning over time, not one-off performance. Across multiple tasks, Cadmus can help you:

  • Understand how feedback connects to specific criteria
  • See how your work improves across drafts or stages
  • Get clearer insight into where you’re doing well and where you can improve
  • Build skills that carry across subjects, not just one assignment

Because Cadmus focuses on your process, not just your final answer, it supports long-term improvement — helping you carry what you learn from one assessment into the next.

Cadmus does not record your screen, webcam, or microphone by default. Some assessments (such as certain exams) may explicitly require tools like:

  • A secure LockedDown Browser
  • A short oral response or image via the built-in webcam

If any of these are required:

  • You will be clearly informed in advance
  • Your university controls when and how these features are used
  • They are only enabled for specific assessment purposes, not general monitoring

Cadmus is designed to protect fairness and integrity, while respecting student privacy and institutional policies.

Cadmus is designed to support authentic learning and original thinking — not just polished final answers. It does this by:

  • Providing a clear assessment structure and environment, so you know exactly what’s expected and have all the resources you need to succeed — reducing the pressure to rely on generative AI tools
  • Focusing on your writing and working process, not just the final submission
  • Supporting drafts, checkpoints, and scaffolded work
  • Allowing educators to see how ideas develop over time
  • Making it easier to show that your work reflects your understanding

In short: Cadmus helps your university recognise how you think, not just what you submit.

Cadmus focuses on the skills and capabilities behind your assessments—things like critical thinking, ethical use of AI, real-world problem solving, and group collaboration. These are exactly the skills that help you get hired, promoted, and stay adaptable in a changing job market.

Many educators also provide practice or exemplar assessments so you can:

  • Familiarise yourself with Cadmus before a real task
  • Build confidence using the platform
  • Ask questions early, without pressure

If you’re unsure, ask your educator whether there’s a practice task or example assessment available.

Cadmus team members work with academics to coordinate practice sessions, so students feel confident using Cadmus before their assessment. Here are a few tips we commend before starting your assessment within Cadmus:

  • Update your operating system and browser ahead of time to reduce the risk of technical issues
  • Always ensure you launch Cadmus through the LMS and not through any saved links or bookmarked URLs
  • Use one browser tab/window and one device to complete your work for smooth auto-saving

Once you submit your assessment, you’ll receive a confirmation email confirming your submission was successful. For Windows exams, if you don’t see a confirmation email, your university’s email system may have blocked auto-generated messages. If this happens, please contact support@cadmus.io to confirm your submission status.
